Guidance for writing up your research findings

  • Purdue Online Writing Lab
    This is a great resource for making sure your writing adheres to the conventions of scholarly research. It addresses the basics of using the most popular style guides. You will most likely use MLA for high school level research projects.
  • Sharon High School's Writing Guide
    This guide is produced by Sharon High School's English Department and provides an overview of the writing process. It also highlights some of the most common pitfalls students encounter such as plagiarism, cliches, improper use of the passive voice, and basic grammar errors.
  • Strunk and White's "The Elements of Style"
    This is a classic reference book that is made available in its entirety online. This book will provide you with essential guidelines for developing an effective and compelling style that will strengthen whatever you write.
